SHARING NEWS OF PASTOR TOM’S RETIREMENT
Many of you will remember Pastor Tom Braun. Pastor Tom faithfully served here at River of LIFE and was part of planting our church. He has announced his retirement effective October 31, 2025. We would love to send him and Colleen a box of cards filled with love and thanks from our River of LIFE family. A collection box will be in the narthex. Please take a moment to write a note or bring a card to share your thanks and encouragement as they enter this new chapter. If anyone has other ideas of how we might honor Pastor Tom, please let us know.
FIRST COMMUNION CLASS
We have a First Communion Class scheduled for Saturday, September 13th, from 8:00-10:00. Please RSVP through our website to let us know if this date works for you. If it does not, there will be an option to indicate interest so we can find another time. At River of LIFE, parents decide when their child is ready to receive the LORD’s Supper for the first time. Typically, children are in 3rd grade or older before attending this class, but if you have questions contact Pastor Brian.
YOUTH GROUP STARTS WEDNESDAY
Youth Group starts this Wednesday. We could still use a couple of extra helpers for our Jr High Youth Group. The group is large and already has a main leader in place, but having a few more assistants would make a big difference.
Even more importantly, we need help with meals. Every Wednesday we provide a free meal for our youth. It makes it easier for kids to get here and it’s a great way to start the evening. This is one of the reasons our youth group has been so successful. To keep this going, we need volunteers willing to bring a meal, prepare food, or help with cleanup. The online signup can be found in the Helpful Links section underneath the red bar on both our website and our church app.
UPCOMING GUATEMALA MISSION TRIP
Join us for a mission trip to Guatemala on February 9th–16th. If you are interested, please talk to Pastor Brian soon. An informational meeting will be held sometime in September and we will be purchasing airline tickets shortly thereafter.
