Ways to Be Involved

Acolyte
Assist during worship by lighting and extinguishing the candles and holding the basket for communion cup disposal. We currently assign all 5th–8th graders to this role, giving them a simple and meaningful way to serve during worship.

Altar Committee
Work behind the scenes to keep the altar area clean, organized, and ready for worship. This includes changing the paraments (flags) to match the season, arranging and watering flowers during Lent and Advent, and taking care of other small altar-related details as needed throughout the year.

Children’s Message
Share a short message or object lesson for children during the worship service, helping them connect with the week’s message in a fun, age-appropriate way. Pastor will let you know the theme and scripture readings for the week, and there are great online resources to help with ideas.

Communion – Serve
Assist the pastor with distributing communion to worshippers. In keeping with LCMS practice, those serving communion are male members who have been confirmed. This role is a meaningful way to help share the Lord’s Supper with our congregation.

Communion – Set Up
Prepare the communion elements (bread, wine/juice, and cups) before the service so everything is ready when worship begins. After the service, respectfully handle any remaining elements and clean up the area so it’s ready for the following week.

Greeter
Welcome people as they arrive for worship, hand out bulletins, help newcomers feel at home, and offer directions as needed. A friendly smile and warm hello go a long way toward making guests feel comfortable.

Live Stream
Operate the camera and streaming equipment to broadcast our worship service online. This helps those who can’t be with us in person still worship and stay connected. Training is provided.

Music – Play Instrument
Use your musical gifts to lead or accompany congregational singing during worship. Whether you play guitar, keyboard, or another instrument, you’ll be part of a team that helps create meaningful worship through music.

Music – Vocals
Share your voice in praise as part of our worship team or choir. Singers help lead the congregation in worship and bring energy and joy to our services.

ProPresenter (Slides)
Run the worship slides during the service using the computer. This includes advancing lyrics, scripture, and announcements at the right times. Training is provided, and it’s a great behind-the-scenes way to help worship run smoothly.

Scripture Reader
Read the scripture or other assigned readings during worship. You’ll receive the readings ahead of time so you can read through and prepare.

Refreshment Cleanup
After worship, help tidy up the coffee area by emptying and rinsing the coffee pots, putting away supplies, washing up items, and resetting the space for next week’s fellowship time.

Usher
Welcome people to worship and help anyone who may need extra assistance getting seated or navigating the sanctuary. Rearrange chairs as needed for wheelchairs or walkers, help the acolyte get started, count attendance, collect the offering, and assist with any other tasks necessary to keep worship running smoothly. (Full job description posted in the volunteer room.)

Vacuum Sanctuary
Help keep the sanctuary clean by vacuuming the carpets and chair areas. This can be done any time during the week before your scheduled Sunday. You’ll receive a building code so you can come in at a time that works best for you.

Worship Coordinator
Make sure worship runs smoothly by checking that volunteers arrive, reminding them of their roles, and finding replacements if needed. A simple checklist is provided to help you stay organized. If you enjoy coordinating details and helping others, this is a great fit.

Sound System
Operate the sound system (iPad) during worship, adjusting microphones and speakers so everything is clear and balanced for in-person worship. Training is available.

Sunday School – Teacher
Teach provided lessons to children on Sunday mornings. We provide everything you need for class each week, including the materials and activities. This is a fun and meaningful way to help kids learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

Sunday School – Substitute Teacher
Be available to fill in for a Sunday School teacher when needed. Materials are provided, so you can easily step in and lead the class when the regular teacher is away.

Youth Group Leader
Work with our youth ministry team to plan events, lead discussions, and help students grow in faith. Leaders also mentor youth and organize service or outreach projects throughout the year.

VBS (Vacation Bible School)
Be part of one of our most fun and energetic weeks of the year! Help lead children through Bible stories, crafts, music, games, and more during our summer VBS program.
